The Communist International: Histories and Legacies

As part of the research network, we will be organising a major international conference, hosted by Liverpool John Moores University, in September, 2022. A Call for Papers will be issued in January, 2022.

The AHRC-funded ‘Rethinking International Communism’ research network brings together scholars from across a variety of disciplines active in researching various aspects of the history and legacy of the Communist International, to examine recent trends and to explore new directions as we continue to refine and to deepen our understanding of the international communist past.

Our aim is to foster new research connections between scholars working broadly in the field of Communist studies, or whose research touches upon the history of international communism. It is envisaged that the project will give rise to publications through the course of the network discussions, including journal special issues and an edited collection.
