Research integrity training

The University provides central and external research integrity training resources, supporting staff and students to use best practice in research and knowledge exchange.

Central training

  • The Library’s Open Research Team offers a scheduled curriculum of workshops on research integrity, research evaluation, and research data management. See UniCal for details on sessions and to book your place.
  • LJMU’s Canvas provides training on the responsible use of metrics, open research, data management, and research ethics and governance.
  • The Integrity bitesize resource provides quick answers on research integrity and on Questionable Research Practices (QRPs).
  • Detailed information on how the University’s Code of Practice for Research and Knowledge Exchange endorses the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) for authorship and acknowledgement can be found on our CRediT, Authorship and Research Technical Professionals webpage.

External training

  • LJMU hosts United Kingdom Research Integrity Office (UKRIO) online training courses for LJMU researchers. Content includes practical topics reflecting current challenges for research professionals, such as artificial intelligence, authorship, open research, data collection and management, declaring competing interests, research security, and collaborative working. Following our 2025 to 2026 offer, please check back for updates on new training.
  • UKRIO provides training events and webinars for all to attend for free.
