  1. Royal Society Partnership Grants

    Partnership Grants of up to £3000 are available to schools to enable students to carry out science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) projects. The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences runs two of these projects per year.

  2. LJMU Test Houses

    The LJMU exemplar houses are the first purpose built, multi-unit housing test facility in the North of the UK. The houses are designed based on standards from the 1920s, 1970s, and present-day and can be used to test emerging green technologies and building methods.

  3. Social behaviour, ecology and conservation

    Our interest lies in the evolution of animal societies and the interactions that occur within these societies and their link to emotion, cognition and communication. We primarily study primates (including humans) but also other species including birds.   4. Sir Dr Brian Harold May CBE

    Sir Brian May, legendary Queen guitarist and astrophysicist, was the fourth Chancellor of the university, a post in which he championed the student focussed approach that is core to LJMU’s vision and values.
