    The Mechanical Engineering and Materials Research Centre (MEMARC) specialises in fracture and contact mechanics, wave propagation in lattices and microstructures, thermal fatigue and thermal striping, materials development and processing, as well as dynamics and control systems.   6. Henry Egerton Cotton 1929 - 1993

    The first Chancellor of the university and a well-known figure in Liverpool. He is immortalised in statue form on our City Campus outside of the Henry Cotton Building.

  8. About LOOM

    The Liverpool Logistics, Offshore and Marine Research Institute (LOOM) specialises in marine, offshore and transport sectors. The research projects conducted by LOOM have helped to improve the efficiency of port and terminal operations in Europe and the Far East.

  10. Athena SWAN

    Liverpool John Moores University joined the Athena SWAN charter in 2014 and was first presented with an Institutional Bronze award in 2014, in recognition of ongoing work relating to gender equality. Since then, LJMU had a second successful submission of their Institutional Bronze award in 2017.
