Ken Birch was a Managing Director for Elder Dempster Lines. Ken had a family history of seafaring and had experience of the sea as a child after he and his family relocated to Southport because of the bombings in WWII. LIsten to Ken's interview.
Bryan is the Director of Bluecoat, Liverpool’s contemporary Arts centre, a working home for artists, and a place where audiences can experience art in new ways. Faye is a 2023 graduate of LJMU, having studied law. She had, at times, a challenging experience at university, discovering she had dyslexia and a degenerative condition that impacted on her memory and conversation. But she showed resilience, courage and determination, with support from her family and LJMU, to successfully complete her studies.
International student Victory followed in her sisters' footsteps to leave Nigeria and to study in the UK. Choosing Liverpool as it was a vibrant and buzzing city, she has not only settled into life in the UK but also helped other fellow international students to do the same, by acting as a student mentor while undertaking master’s study in business and management.
Jason supports staff, both individuals and teams, across the university to enhance their knowledge and to improve their skills as our Organisational Development Manager. Having graduated from LJMU in 1998, Jason stayed on in a temporary role working in student welfare and has remained at LJMU ever since. This year he celebrates 25 years working at the university.
One of our pioneers, she started a revolution in physical education with a ground-breaking curriculum that still lives on at LJMU today.
