Our research aims to make positive changes to coach, teacher and practitioner development and inform policy and practice to improve people’s lives. We provide multidisciplinary approaches to our research with the aim of solving real world problems and pride ourselves in collaborating with industry partners.
Professor Roger Webster is the former Executive Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Studies and Professor of Literary Studies at the university. He was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by LJMU in 2017 for his outstanding contribution to arts and cultural education. He brought together a book on the origins and history of LJMU, released in 2017 for the university’s 25th anniversary.
The Reimagining Conflict: Pedagogy, Policy and Arts Group brings together an international consortium of universities, charities, NGO’s, practitioners and artists.
Working in partnership with Mersey Maritime, The Maritime Knowledge Hub helps to meet the training needs of the maritime industry, whether that is through our facilities or through our specialist training courses.
LJMU have reviewed their quality assurance processes and have developed and standardised a more robust reporting mechanism for both practice partners and academic staff.

Based within LJMU’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology, LIVE Lab provides cutting-edge facilities for the development and delivery of usability research through immersive, virtual, mixed and augmented reality technologies.
