4. degree apprenticeships

   LJMU is set to expand its successful degree apprenticeship programmes after being awarded significant new funding. The university has received £1m from the Office for Students’ national fund to support level 6 degree apprenticeships.

5. Work under way to transform Byrom Street

   The university has begun work on a series of major projects to continue the transformation of our Byrom Street site for the benefit of students and staff.

   An online book, which aims to change the narrative of women in Nepal and celebrate those who have inspired positive change has been created to help shape research and development projects in low and middle income countries.

8. New staff profile system now live

   LJMU Profiles, the university’s new staff profile system has gone live on LJMU’s website showcasing our staff community and university expertise.

9. Thought-provoking Roscoe Lecture

   Journalist and human rights activist, Rebecca Tinsley, delivered a thought-provoking Roscoe Lecture which delved into the human psyche, asking if genocide is part of our nature.

10. Celebrating Cultures Event

    The celebrating cultures event this year had India, China, Canada, Pakistan, Colombia, Nepal, England, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lesotho, Scotland, Vietnam, Nigeria, Indonesia, Greece, Italy, Bangladesh, Switzerland, Iran, Somalia and Brazil being represented. Following this event, an international student wrote a reflection on their experience in participating.
