1. A Nursing Pilot Showing Real Promise | Edtech

   Andy Shackleton has partnered with the School of Nursing to pilot a smarter way of organising large student cohorts in Canvas, using a combination of Groups and Sections to deliver targeted activities and content to different teams. Early feedback from the Nursing Simulated Practice team has been very positive, with the approach credited with helping a current placement run significantly more smoothly. The pilot is part of a wider project to find scalable Canvas solutions for larger cohorts.

   The Edtech team at LJMU is currently operating with reduced capacity. We ask that staff and students bear with us during this period as we work hard to maintain support and minimise disruption.

3. Olivia Coles Graduate Case Study | Student Futures

   Olivia Coles is a video journalist at the Times and the Sunday Times in London. Olivia graduated from LJMU with a degree in History and English and then went on to do an MA in Broadcast Journalism at City University, London.

4. Cora Shafto Graduate Case Study | Student Futures

   Cora Shafto graduated with a Sociology degree and secured a job as a Community Fundraiser for Claire House Children's Hospice.

5. Tom Barnes Graduate Case Study | Student Futures

   Tom Barnes graduated from LJMU with degree in Sociology and went on to do an MSc in Development Studies at SOAS (School of African and Oriental studies) in London before becoming the Director of Fundraising and Communications at War on Want.

6. Hannah Lacy PhD Case Study | Student Futures

   Hannah Lacy graduated from LJMU in 2021 with a degree in Wildlife Conservation, followed by an MSc in Wildlife Conservation Technology in 2022, and is now a PhD Researcher in Conservation Biology at the University of Leeds.

   2023 Business Management graduate talks about how undertaking a Discovery Internship was an important factor in helping her secure a place on the MDS graduate scheme in Trainee Management Development.

10. Zoë Dunlop Graduate Job Case Study | Student Futures

    Zoë Dunlop graduated in 2025 with a degree in Marketing and has secured a graduate role with AccountsIQ in London. During her time at LJMU, Zoë completed an industrial placement with Mando Group, worked part-time for the Student Futures team during her final year as a Marketing and Content Officer and also completed a Discovery Internship with In-House Legal Solutions.
