Cape Town - Go Global

Go Global

LJMU’s Go Global fund aims to help you to increase your cultural awareness and build your confidence, all while making a positive difference to the world. Who knows, you might even pick up some of the lingo wherever you go.

The LJMU Go Global fund allows you to undertake international projects, from existing programmes such as Camp America or TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) courses, to individual projects that you design yourself. Whatever your idea, we can help you realise it. In the past, we have helped students teach children in Fiji, assist female community health workers in Nepal, coach football in South Africa, research animal conservation in Zimbabwe and work as camp counsellors in America and South East Asia, just to name a few.

Global Citizen Fund - for undergraduate students

Who is it for?

Full-time undergraduate level 4 and level 5 students can apply for up to £1,000 towards a project at a destination of their choice. It is important to note that:

  • Global Citizen is available to students who have not previously received Go Global funding
  • Projects must not be organised or led by an academic member of staff
  • Awards are not available for projects that are or could be, funded by Erasmus+
  • The proposed project cannot form part of a student’s academic studies

What does it involve?

Global Citizen allows LJMU students to undertake individual projects around the world to encourage personal development and cultural awareness. Students can design their own project or source from providers. Please note that applicants taking part in unpaid projects will be prioritised.

Jack - Go Global

I never dreamed the university would ever give me this opportunity, so when I got the email to say I had been accepted I was extremely happy!
