We are thrilled to invite you to LJMU’s private Black History Month exhibit viewing and arts panel, as part of our 'Celebrating Local Black Artists' event.

This event promises to be a celebration of art, culture, and creativity, featuring the incredible work of New York and Liverpool-based artist and Hip-Hop performer, Nikki Blaze and discussions with a panel of local artists.

Event Highlights:

Exclusive Pop-Up Exhibition and talk by Nikki Blaze: Discover the unique and inspiring artwork of Nikki Blaze, whose fusion of art and Hip Hop has captivated audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.

Afro-Caribbean Food: Immerse yourself in the rich flavours of Afro-Caribbean cuisine, with a delectable spread of dishes that pay homage to the culinary heritage of the African diaspora.

Panel Discussion with Local Artists: Engage in a thought-provoking discussion as a panel of local artists shares their experiences and insights on what it means to be Black in the arts industry. We will hear from Actor Paislie Reid, Dancer Emma Thomas, writer Melanie John, filmmaker Bea Freeman and poet Gerry Clarkson.

Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges, triumphs, and contributions of Black artists in today's world.
