Leadership Growth Skills Project

Leadership Growth Skills Project

European Structural and Investment Funds logo

The Leadership Growth Skills project is funded by the European Union European Structural and Investment Funds and focuses on improving leadership and management, particularly for small enterprises and their employees. There is particular emphasis on supporting the training needs of groups that are under-represented in leadership roles in the region.

Delivered in partnership with training providers geographically spread across the Liverpool City Region, the project will ensure access for all and will see 1,853 people trained between now and end of 2023.

The project's aim is to upskill participants currently fulfilling, or with the future potential to undertake, higher level management roles within the city-region’s business base. With a project value of £1.8m - and a total cost of £3m (matched funding) - the long term impact will be in improving capability and, as result, productivity.

The Leadership Growth Project will create benefits to the LCR - including an improved skills base among indigenous businesses in the city-region, particularly among workforce members capable of career progression into leadership and management roles within their companies. Long-term, the participants earning potential should be increased, alongside their contribution to improved productivity within their companies.
