Biography

Dr Lorie Charlesworth PhD, LLM, BA FHEA, is Reader in Law and History, Law School, Liverpool John Moores University. She has published extensively the Poor Law, including a monograph Welfare’s Forgotten Past: A Socio Legal History of the Poor Law (Routledge, 2010). More recently her research concerns the ‘minor’, war crimes trials in Occupied Germany. She has given many conference papers. She is Editor in Chief of the Liverpool Law Review, published by Springer in the Netherlands; Editor of Law Crimes and History, and a Director of SOLON: Promoting Interdisciplinary Studies in Law, Crime and Bad Behaviour. She is currently an Associate Fellow of the Human Rights Consortium.
