Caroline qualified as a solicitor in 1989 and is still practising - chiefly as a commercial conveyancing solicitor for a local firm. She initially practised at The Buss Murton Partnership in Kent before moving back to Liverpool in 1990 to complete articles with Brabners Chaffe Street. She worked for several years at DLA in Liverpool and was on the team responsible for the regeneration of the Liverpool Dock side area and for Brewery work and corporate support and development. She continued this work at Hill Dickinson in Liverpool before taking a year out in 2002 to look after her young family. IIn 2003, she worked as an ILEX tutor at Southport College teaching 15 different subjects at various levels across a range of subjects before settling at Liverpool John Moores University in 2004. Over the years, Caroline has appeared to move from teaching hard knowledge based subjects to includfe a range of skills based subjects. The latest of these is the Negotiation module on the LLB which Caroline heads and the Mediation module taught with Peter McPartland. Peter heads the Mediation module. She is a fractional staff member at 0.7 to allow her time to perform specialist consultancy work for her clients and to care for her now largely grown up family and over enthusiastic lurchers.
She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority, a member of the Liverpool Law Society, is on the roll of practising solicitors and holds two post graduate qualifications and mediation qualifications.
