Dr Bibha Simkhada

Biography

I am a Researcher at the School of Nursing and Allied Health working in the Centre for Collaborative Innovation in Dementia which is an accredited Living Lab (European Network of Living Labs) in the UK. Currently working on HELIUM project which aims to increase the efficiency of public funding dedicated to health innovation.
I am also working to develop Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training for Nurses working in Nepal. In past, I have worked in various international research projects:
• Women’s health in developing countries.
• Health and wellbeing of Nepali community living in the UK.
• Involved in mental health training for maternity care providers in Nepal.
My research interest includes Dementia, Aging Research, Health Innovation, Health Inequalities, Lifestyle Research of Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities in the UK.
I have background in Adult Nursing (RGN) with extensive experiences of working in NHS and completed PhD in Public Health. I am also Visiting Fellow in Bournemouth University and Visiting Lecturer in the College of Medical Science in Nepal.
