Biography

Dr Christine Wall started her nursing career in 1976 and completed her Registered Nurse Training in Adult Care in 1979. She then undertook the ENB100 Intensive Care Course and worked as a qualified nurse on Intensive Care for two years. Following on from this Christine worked as Ward Manager on a Gastro Enterology ward until 1985 when her career turned towards Nurse Education when she became a qualified Nurse Teacher. In 1991 she achieved a B.Ed (First Class Hons) Degree and successfully completed her M.Phil in 1998. Furthermore she was awarded a PhD for her Thesis titled “The experiences of patients and partners during the period leading up to the diagnosis of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma” in 2008. Christine's interest in cancer care has continued and she has undertaken several research investigations into the patient experience following a diagnosis of cancer including colorectal and prostate cancer and patient perceptions of quality of cancer care. She has an interest in all aspects of nurse education and currently facilitates nursing students using the scenario based learning approach. Her current research is exploring the learning experience of students undertaking this approach. She also teaches research methods modules and supervises students during dissertations and PhDs. She has a particular interest in research Ethics and represents the Faculty on the University Research Ethics Panel and Chairs the school based Research Ethics Panel. Over recent years Christine has been awarded 2 Learning and Teaching awards from LJMU in recognition of her impact on the student learning experience
