Whether on campus or in our local or international communities, active citizenship is evident throughout the LJMU experience
Providing opportunities to our students
To ensure we provide many opportunities for students to become active citizens, LJMU offers a range of programmes and projects both within and outside of the curriculum. For example, students can work or study abroad, take up mentorship positions, join student groups or sports teams, or interact with schoolchildren and other members of the community – helping them to develop confidence, gain life and professional skills, and become well-rounded and morally responsible citizens. Take a look at the links below to see how we’re encouraging active citizenship.
Promoting global citizenship through our research
LJMU is one of the top universities in the UK for engaging with industry, we are also award-winning when it comes to Knowledge Transfer Partnerships. Our researchers are working to help find the solutions to the problems of the 21st century in collaboration with institutions and organisations from across the world, discover just some of the ways we are doing this from the link below.
If you're a current LJMU student or staff member and interested in making a positive impact in your community, you might consider giving your time to one of the many volunteer opportunities available.
