Curriculum Enhancement Bid Support

telescopeLast week (4/10/17) Kaylie Fortune sent out a call for curriculum enhancement proposals.  If you think technology might be able to support an existing curriculum enhancement idea you’ve been considering or you just want some curriculum enhancement inspiration, why not speak to your local TEL and technical colleagues.

Just some recent Faculty developments and technologies that could easily be used to support the theme of ‘Creativity in the curriculum’ have been outlined below:

  • Simon Morris has kindly compiled a short video demonstrating a range of new technologies and work he has been developing, including virtual reality and talking avatars – take a look
  • Paul Allen this summer also demonstrated some very interesting work with an interactive 360 exploration of the practice suites
  • The Collaborative room (c104) in IM Marsh also has a lot of potential, presenting exciting possibilities for mobile device use, active learning and collaboration in the classroom
  • Similarly all the classrooms in TBS and Henry Cotton now have mobile device support and are Panopto ready both for live streaming and recording

Looking further afield Institutional technologies that could be used to enhance your curriculum include:

  •  for enabling student participation and contingent teaching
  •  for reflective writing and portfolio creation
  • Student video creation and submission with Panopto
  • And of course, Canvas, which offers a range of collaborative and creative tools that could be employed to support distance and flipped learning….

As suggested, feel free to contact your local TEL and technical colleagues if you want to learn more about any of these resources. Whether for a potential curriculum enhancement bid or simply just to develop your own practice.
