  1. Sir Bert Massie CBE DL (1949 – 2017)

    Bert was a famous disability rights campaigner, himself a wheelchair user, dedicating his life to advocating for improvements to the daily life of those with disabilities. He was also an alumnus of the Liverpool Polytechnic, later becoming an Honorary Fellow and serving as a governor, while working closely with the university on its equality and diversity policies.

  4. Time domain astrophysics

    Within the time domain astrophysics research group, we are involved in major observational survey projects. We work on a variety of explosive transients, including galactic and extragalactic novae, type la supernovae, core collapse supernovae, and gamma rays bursts. The Liverpool Telescope is the workhorse of the group. Find out more about our research.
