1. Exciting development opportunity for women to undertake action learning with peers from North West universities

   We are pleased to offer this development opportunity for up to 15 women working in academic and professional services roles to take part in cross institutional action learning sets with peers from universities in the North West region. Action learning provides a unique space for women to support each other to overcome work and career related challenges. This opportunity has been taken up previously by 150 women. Participant feedback includes: it was not role specific, so there were a range of individuals with different roles/skills/perspective which enriched my experience and It provided a rare opportunity to discuss issues confidentially outside of ones own workplace which helped me to develop more self-confidence and self-awareness.

2. Honour Based Abuse, Female Genital Mutilation and Forced Marriage conference held in partnership with Savera UK 

   LJMU equality and diversity team worked in partnership with SaveraUK to host an inspiring HBA, FGM and FM event in November 2019.

3. LJMU funds 100 interns for local business

   KEY roles in Liverpool businesses are being filled by LJMU undergraduates under a new employability scheme.

5. LJMU representatives explore partnership opportunities in India

   Regional Manager for South Asia, Shailender Silamsetty, and International Partnerships Manager, Dr. Ian D. Bennett spent time recently visiting Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore in order to explore new partnership opportunities and showcasing the LJMU brand overseas

    This week we introduce Mike Lynn, a recent LJMU postgraduate who is working closely with organisations such as Joshua Tree and Alderhey hospital to try to fight for improvements in cancer after care nutrition and exercise in paediatric patients.
