    q:LJMU was established to provide an inter-disciplinary space for LJMU staff and research degree students interested in research with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) people and communities to come together to support research activities, discussion and collaboration.

  5. Professor Mike Riley

    Professor Mike Riley has worked at LJMU for some 33 years and is the Director of the School of Civil Engineering and Built Environment. He is passionate about giving students the tools they need to be the best that they can be in the world of building and construction.

  6. Dr Robyn Pyne

    Robyn joined LJMU in 2017 and is Programme Leader and Principal Lecturer for Logistics and Maritime programmes with our Faulty of Engineering and Technology. In 2024 she became Associate Dean for Global Engagement, responsible for collaborative provision and international partnerships for the faculty.

    The Intern to Work – Supported Internships project was funded by the LJMU Diversity and Inclusion Team in 2023-2024.

  8. Trish Bennett

    Trish is the Chief Nurse, Chief Operations Officer, and Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Clinical Services at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. In 2023, she was awarded an honorary fellowship for her dedication to public health and nursing throughout her career spanning over three decades in the NHS.

    Obi Okeke was Third Mate for Elder Dempster Lines. In his interview, Obi talks about why he joined Elder Demspter Lines, about his time at the University of Southampton and what it was like on board in bad weather conditions.

  10. Professor Peter Toyne CBE DL

    Professor Peter Toyne was the Rector at Liverpool Polytechnic between 1986 and 1992 and the first LJMU Vice-Chancellor, once it gained university status, from 1992 to 2000. His vision for the polytechnic and then the university benefited not just students but Liverpool too.
