    The Mechanical Engineering and Materials Research Centre (MEMARC) specialises in fracture and contact mechanics, wave propagation in lattices and microstructures, thermal fatigue and thermal striping, materials development and processing, as well as dynamics and control systems.   4. Drone Technologies and Sensing

    The Drone Technologies and Sensing (DTS) research area combines some of the latest research from the General Engineering Research Institute (GERI) in the field of state-of-the-art drone technology, alongside well established research streams in optical measurement and sensing that have a long history of sustained research excellence.

  5. Electrical and Electronic Engineering facilities

    The Electrical and Electronic Engineering Research Centre has a wide range of facilities, including probe stations, test samples, semiconductor parameter analyzers and a range of three-phase and multiphase (five-phase, six-phase and nine-phase) machines too. The Centre also has two-level and three-level voltage source inverters and a three-phase to nine-phase direct matrix converter.
