3. Project Harpocrates scholarship for police staff seeking a career in covert investigations and intelligence

   The police staff, drawn from Nottinghamshire Police, West Midlands Police and British Transport Police, secured the scholarship opportunity under an initiative known as Project Harpocrates. The project seeks to support law enforcement efforts to recruit and retain staff in the highly specialist area of covert operations and specialist intelligence.  Whilst the project was open to all officers one of the specific aims of the project is to increase the representation of  Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff (BAME)  in this challenging and exciting area of investigation and intelligence management.

4. Training for managers/personal tutors on disabilities and long-term health conditions, including mental health

   The aim of the programme is to offer LJMU Managers, Programme Leaders and Personal Tutors further support and guidance, in relation to; operating more confidently and effectively, whilst developing themselves and their staff/students positively.

5. Honour Based Abuse, Female Genital Mutilation and Forced Marriage conference held in partnership with Savera UK 

   LJMU equality and diversity team worked in partnership with SaveraUK to host an inspiring HBA, FGM and FM event in November 2019.

6. Doctoral Study Information Session

   The Doctoral Academy is offering information sessions to provide LJMU students and graduates with the opportunity to learn more about doctoral study.

9. Stars - gone in a day!

   We are delighted to welcome Prof Andreja Gomboc from Slovenia to present the 2025 John Porter Memorial Lecture on "Stars - gone in a day!". Learn about the many explosive ways that stars can "die" and what we can learn from them. The lecture is free and open to all. Tickets are not required, just turn up and enjoy the lecture.
