   A number of LJMU staff policies have been updated.

7. LJMU lecturer and terrorism expert advises Police on anti-terror policies

   LJMU is proving to be a pioneering voice in shaping police policy around terrorism and protecting young people from radicalisation in the region. Dr David Lowe, senior lecturer at the School of Law and leading expert on counter-terrorism has been working closely with Merseyside Police HQ, presenting at their recent Prevent Seminar, while assisting with guidance on law and policy issues more generally.

8. Project Harpocrates scholarship for police staff seeking a career in covert investigations and intelligence

   The police staff, drawn from Nottinghamshire Police, West Midlands Police and British Transport Police, secured the scholarship opportunity under an initiative known as Project Harpocrates. The project seeks to support law enforcement efforts to recruit and retain staff in the highly specialist area of covert operations and specialist intelligence.  Whilst the project was open to all officers one of the specific aims of the project is to increase the representation of  Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff (BAME)  in this challenging and exciting area of investigation and intelligence management.

9. Framework for Academic Quality and Standards Policy update

   This staff policy has had a minor amendment.

10. New Neonatal Care Leave Policy and updated Family Friendly policies

    A new Neonatal Care Leave Policy has been created and existing family friendly policies have been updated in relation to neonatal care leave.
