(Key contacts) Support services for Staff and Students with disabilities at LJMU

Support for LJMU Staff:

If you feel comfortable speaking to your Line Manager about seeking additional support, they are a good place to start. Alternatively you can contact your Faculty/Area Human Resources Business Partner (*see below) for further guidance, Occupational Health or the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team via email equality@ljmu.ac.uk or call 0151 231 8141/8660

Wellbeing during COVID-19 (working in isolation) & telephone counselling services for staff:

LJMU's Reward, Recognition & Engagement Team have put together a web-page filled with useful resources and handy-tips for wellbeing, including details on how to access a FREE 24/7 Telephone Counselling Service via an external organisation. To find out more, please click the following link.

Face-to-Face staff counselling service:

If you require counselling, your local GP service/NHS funded counselling services should be your first port of call. You should also review the range of online services that are available on the LJMU website as you may find that you can access immediate help and support online. LJMU Staff who wish to access counselling urgently, and who have already accessed the online resources, may be referred to the LJMU Staff Counselling Service (externally run), however places are limited and will be offered after an initial assessment:

  • Step 1 - Review and try the online resources provided by LJMU, these may provide you with immediate help and support
  • Step 2 - If, after using the online resources, you do require further support, you should contact your allocated Faculty/Area HR Business Partner
  • Step 3 - Your HR Business Partner may refer you to the Occupational Health Team in the first instance
  • Step 4 - Your request will be assessed and those whom require face-to-face counselling will be offered the provision (it is important to note that places are limited).
