Erasmus study at LJMU

Studying at LJMU through an Erasmus exchange

If you have been nominated by your home institution for an Erasmus+ exchange you may want to consider Liverpool John Moores University. LJMU is a popular destination for European students because of our excellent reputation for academic quality, world-leading research, modern facilities, and passionate and supportive staff. Of course, we can’t ignore one of the main draws to our University – the city of Liverpool itself. With our four faculties spread across several campuses throughout the city centre (and beyond) and many cultural ties to the city, our status in Liverpool is second to none.

We’re sure you’ll enjoy your time here but why not find out for yourself what we have to offer? Take a look at our Student Experience pages to find out about our campuses, sports and societies, benefits and opportunities, and everything else that sums up what it’s like to be a student here. You can also find out what it’s like to live in Liverpool. See our Discover Liverpool section to find out about Liverpool’s culture, sport, events, history and more.

Key facts about the accommodation on offer:

  • a typical flat consists of four to six individual bedrooms with shared communal space for relaxing, cooking and eating
  • all bedrooms and studios are single occupancy only and in most cases they are also ensuite
  • all accommodation is located within the city centre, within easy walking distance of the majority of our teaching buildings
  • students with courses based at our IM Marsh campus will need to travel there from the city centre for lectures, a journey of approximately four miles. LJMU will provide a free bus pass for the period of your study
  • there is no catered accommodation available in Liverpool but all flats and studios are equipped with fully-fitted kitchens
  • there are no meal plans available at LJMU. Each of our teaching buildings has a café and/or vending machines. There are grocery stores within easy walking distance of each of the halls and there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and fast-food outlets within the city centre
  • tenancy agreements run from the check-in date of 3 September 2016 to the check-out date of 6 January 2017. You are required to pay the rent for the full tenancy period before your arrival at the accommodation
  • rents include all heating and lighting costs, WiFi connectivity in your flat, and basic insurance for your possessions
  • it may be possible to place more than one student in the same flat if you and a friend want to live together, but in order to do so you'll need to let us know
