A 21st century careers service
Our careers service offers a wide range of resources to help you plan your next step, both while you are at university and after you graduate.
- in-depth careers advice and guidance
- a vacancy website for placements and graduate jobs
- opportunities to meet and engage with employers
- an extensive ‘Ready for Work’ programme of careers and employability workshops
Our Employability Advisers will help you prepare for job applications, volunteering and postgraduate opportunities. They can review and provide expert advice on your CVs, application forms and personal statements. Whether you are looking for casual work, summer work, a sandwich placement, a graduate job or a postgraduate course, the Employability Advisers can help you make your application effective.
The Employability Advisers can also discuss work experience and skill development opportunities with you and how to best prepare for interviews.
Each Faculty has a designated Careers Adviser who you can speak with to explore your options and plan for your career.
Work related learning
We also organise the work related learning opportunities available for every student through placements, internships, employer lectures and industry projects.
To book an appointment with a Careers Adviser or Employability Adviser, call in to one of our Careers Zones (in the James Parsons Building at Byrom Street or the Aldham Robarts Library). Alternatively, phone 0151 231 8099 (option 1).
