Circulation

  • There are doors in corridors/walkways which must be opened manually.
  • The type of flooring in corridors/walkways is carpet and vinyl.
  • There is some flooring in corridor/walkways which includes patterns or colours which could be confusing or look like steps or holes to some people.
  • Handrails with a rounded or oval profile are not provided in corridors/walkways.

Gender neutral toilets are located on the right side of the building in every floor.

  • This accessible toilet is located to the rear of the café,
  • There is step-free access to the accessible toilet,
  • The door is heavy.
  • The door does not have a horizontal grab rail.

  • This accessible toilet is located on the upper ground floor next to the lifts.
  • This accessible toilet is approximately 2m from the lift exit.

Quiet room

  • There is a place of safety on the upper ground floor in the chaplaincy area.
  • There is a designated place of safety which can be used by people with dementia, autism or learning disabilities.

Lift

  • The lift is located to the right of the building.
  • The lift is clearly visible from the entrance.
  • There are heavy single doors to exit the lift lobbies from all floors when exiting the rear doors in the lift.
  • The external controls for the lift are within 90cm – 110cm from the floor.
  • There is a hearing loop system.

  • The lighting levels in the lift are low to moderate.
