Equality Charter Marks

What are Equality Charter Marks?

Equality charter marks or “charters” enable organisations to apply for awards that recognise their commitment to and progression of equality, diversity and inclusion related areas.

The charters aim to drive forward positive cultural changes needed if institutions are to remain competitive and attractive to talented staff and potential students in a global market.

These outcome-focused charters consist of a vigorous application process and are regularly used as catalysts for change, encouraging higher education institutions, research institutes and others to transform their current community culture and make a genuine impact on the lives of staff and students.
