Holter Monitor

Redesigning the future of heart monitoring

by Najdar Sadeq

Level 6 Product Design Engineering Student

Over the course of the academic year, Najdar dedicated his final project to reimagining one of the most widely used yet outdated pieces of medical technology, the Holter Monitor.

Traditionally bulky and uncomfortable, Holter Monitors are used to track heart activity over 24 to 48 hours, but their design has seen little innovation over the years.

Najdar set out to change that. The project introduces a slicker, smaller, and smarter Holter Monitor, designed not only for comfort and wearability but also to seamlessly transfer real-time health data to clinicians via secure digital channels.

With a user-centred approach and a strong focus on aesthetics, functionality, and medical compliance, this next-gen concept shows how design and engineering can enhance patient care and efficiency in the healthcare sector.
