How to book an appointment

We recommend that students first meet with a Wellbeing Advisor who will guide you to the most suitable support based on your needs.

You can book an appointment with a Wellbeing Advisor or visit one of our drop-ins, available Monday to Friday, 10am until 4pm in the Student Life Building (Copperas Hill) and James Parson’s Building (Byrom Street).

Alternatively you can contact the Mental Health Team directly:

What to expect from your appointment with the Mental Health Team

We offer appointments in person, online and over the telephone. Appointments typically last 30 to 50 minutes.

For face-to-face meetings we are located in a private and discreet space within the Student Life Building. Meetings take place in individual meeting rooms.

Initial assessments

We begin with an initial assessment to identify the most suitable mental health support for your individual needs. Our team provides information, self-help resources, and can refer you to other services both within and outside of the university. We also offer ongoing support and work with you to develop strategies for managing your mental health and navigating university life.

We work closely with our colleagues in Student Advice and Wellbeing including the Counselling and Wellbeing Advice service.
