  1. Electrical and Electronic Engineering facilities

    The Electrical and Electronic Engineering Research Centre has a wide range of facilities, including probe stations, test samples, semiconductor parameter analyzers and a range of three-phase and multiphase (five-phase, six-phase and nine-phase) machines too. The Centre also has two-level and three-level voltage source inverters and a three-phase to nine-phase direct matrix converter.

    The Forensic anthropology group is committed to the development of protocols and guidelines to increase the reliability of the recovery, documentation and analysis of human remains. We provide casework consultancy for forensic anthropological analysis, facial approximation and mass grave excavation.     The Green Spaces Research Group within the Institute for Health Research, is concerned with research that aims to improve access and benefits from being outdoors.

    Our Substance Use and Behavioural Addictions research group conduct world leading research into the causes and consequences of substance use on an individual and societal level

  6. Suicide and Self-Harm Research Group

    The Suicide and Self-Harm Research Group builds on existing areas of excellence in research and aligns with the national suicide prevention strategy (2019)

  7. Biomechanics Research Group

    Our research is applicable to clinical and sport and exercise biomechanics. Our focus includes: musculo-skeletal growth and development, gait analysis, virtual rehabilitation, postural stability, footwear biomechanics, and artificial neural networks.

  8. Brain and Behaviour Research Group

    In the Brain and Behaviour Research Group within RISES, we study human motor behaviour from the neural level through to perception and cognition. Our two main areas of research are sensorimotor neuroscience and expert performance and learning.

  9. Physical Activity Exchange

    Our research is applied in nature and is focused on physical activity, sedentary behaviour, fitness and health in laboratory and various real world settings.
