Supporting those facing domestic abuse

We Believe You banner

LJMU is backing a campaign to support people facing gender-based violence.

The 16 days of activism against gender-based violence runs each year between 25 November (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) and to 10 December (International Human Rights Day).

LJMU has been working in partnership with domestic abuse experts to develop a cultural and gender-inclusive safeguarding campaign to support staff and students at the university.

The 'We believe you' campaign recognises the multiple barriers that victims may face in seeking help and signposts local and national organisations offering specialist support.

It is a positive expression of support that demonstrates the university’s commitment to safeguarding staff and students experiencing or at risk of domestic abuse.

LJMU gender-based guidance on domestic violence will be published shortly. We plan to support the guidance with a series of workshops in the new year.
