Reuse your coffee cup and save money

Did you know if you use a reusable cup at a café on campus, you will get 25p off the cost of your hot drink?

By doing this, you are making a small contribution to helping save our planet as well as saving some money.

Eco-friendly search engine: Ecosia

The university trialled a new eco-friendly search engine, Ecosia, during Sustainability Week (3-7 February). 

This week-long switch to make Ecosia our default search engine was requested by JMSU to highlight the impact we can all have in small ways to help our environment. 

During the university's first week of using Ecosia, students and staff searched 97,668 times and financed 3,526 trees. 

The university has reverted to Google while we work with JMSU to evaluate student and staff feedback. 

Following the feedback stage, the university will consider whether to make Ecosia our permanent search engine.
