Vacancy for a Staff Governor [Teaching] - Call for Nominations

Nominations are sought to fill one vacancy on the Board of Governors for a Staff Governor [Teaching] for the period 1st April 2020 to 31st March 2023.

The Role and Eligibility: 

The Board is particularly keen to encourage engagement at its Board Meetings and Workshops from all Governors.  It is important, therefore, that you have the confidence to fully participate and are knowledgeable about the Higher Education Sector in general and in particular regarding governance policies and regulations.

All eligible members of staff will receive an email with information about the post and how to apply. 

NB. Research staff must have teaching responsibilities to be eligible for this category.

Documentation Required:

Nominees must submit the following documents:

  • Nomination Form signed by the nominee and supported by two members of staff who can be full or part-time, but must include the nominee’s line manager.
  • Supporting Statement outlining how the nominee meets the eligibility criteria
  • Election Statement of no more than 100 words, outlining to the electorate the nominee’s suitability for the role.

Deadline for Nominations:

Monday 16th March, 12noon. 

Should more than one nomination be received, an election will be held between during March 2020, after the Nominations Committee has ensured that all candidates meet the nomination criteria.
