Staff event at Student Life Building

Our next staff open day at the Student Life Building takes place on Wednesday 24 November, with a focus on our Student Futures team.

The event is a great networking and social opportunity, a chance to familiarise yourself with the services in the new building and enjoy a free lunch.

You’re also invited to a meet and greet session with Student Futures – LJMU’s Careers, Employability and Enterprise team – and to take part in a town hall-style discussion.

Join us from midday-2pm.

  • A free lunch (Scouse and blind Scouse) is served from 12:30pm.

  • Guided tours of the Student Life Building every 20 minutes between midday and 1:30pm, starting from the Careers Zone Helpdesk. Get to know the Careers Zone, Start-Up Hub and Unitemps spaces, as well as JMSU, SAW, Study Skills and Go Abroad and learning about activities and events students can engage in.

  • Meet the Student Futures team and find out more about what they do and how you can work with them.

  • Have a go using our Digital First Offer for students including CV360 checker (no need to bring a CV, we’ll provide one for you), Career Pulse and Interview360, our online interview practice tool - and much more!

  • Join Student Future’s work-based learning consultant to talk through how work-based learning can be developed within programmes and find out more about work being done across the institution on extracted curriculum employability skills.

  • Take part in a town hall-style event led by Director of Student Futures, Chris Finn, in which we discuss: ‘How, as a whole university community, we can work together to support our students to secure great futures in a post-pandemic world’. This takes place at 1pm in room 2.06.

We look forward to seeing you there.
