Staff Car Parking Update

Following a recent review of LJMU staff car parking provision, the university will continue to subsidise staff car parking until 31 August 2023

This means staff can continue to park in the current spaces, at the same cost, through a monthly scheme that will be paid directly out of your salary, administered by the LJMU Estates team. Please note that the university will no longer provide day passes.

What to do if you currently have a permit?

If you would like to continue to secure a contracted space, paid on a monthly basis, for either Fort Knox, (which is the closest to Exchange Station) or the Liverpool City Council Car Parks (which includes both Mount Pleasant and Fraser Street), please email PARKING@ljmu.ac.uk by the 5 August 2022. Contracts will be valid for 12 months from the 1 September until 31 August 2023.

(Please note that all monthly passes are for a 12 month period and staff must commit to the full twelve months. For the avoidance of doubt, it will not be possible to cancel the permits during the holidays. In addition, permits are not transferable and cannot be shared between staff who may work on different days.)

To park in Fort Knox on a daily basis you can pay £3 directly in cash on the day at Fort Knox. Please note that the daily parking in Fort Knox is also open to the public and will be available on a first come, first served basis. Only staff with monthly passes are guaranteed parking at Fort Knox.

(Staff car parking contracts will now be held directly with either Fort Knox or Liverpool City Council.)

Apply for a monthly pass for LJMU-owned parking spaces

You now also have the additional opportunity to apply for a monthly pass for LJMU-owned parking spaces across various locations at the same cost of £44/month.

Please note these spaces are very limited. For a list of locations and details of the allocation process please read the Car Parking application form for university owned spaces 2022.  Personal circumstances can be provided in confidence to the EDI team through the form.

If you would like to apply for an annual pass, paid on a monthly basis, for one of the university parking spaces, please email the Car Parking Application Form for university owned spaces 2022 by 5 August 2022 to edicarparking@ljmu.ac.uk
