Cecilia is a Senior Lecturer in Graphic Design and Illustration at Liverpool John Moores University.
After completing an MA in Multimedia Arts in 1997 Cecilia continued her combined interest in animation and user interaction by designing and coding navigation for various CD Roms, stand alone pieces and websites. Over the years this then evolved into a more specific interest into the communication and interpretation of information through text and image, especially through Graphic novels and narrative sequences.

She became a lecturer at LJMU in 1998 and has also taught in Liverpool Community College, and Camberwell College of Art, London. Since working at LJMU she has curated a range of exhibitions that have showcased the research work by herself and other Liverpool Art and Design School staff. She has also been the image currator for all three editions of the visual language theory books ‘Visible Signs’ and the publication ‘Left to Right’ both by David Crow.
Another main interest within her work is experimental typography: she was a founding member of 1990’s typography collective ‘Beaufonts’ and has recently created an updated version of her font ‘ Ladies night’ for the exhibition ‘re-Type’.

She has also worked in a range of design studios and creative agencies including: LMU, ICDC, FACT, Splinter, Uniform, and Neville Brody Research Studios.
