Catherine Barker is a Lecturer in Learning, Development and Support in the School of Education.

Catherine was awarded her MA in Early Childhood from the University of Chester in 2022. Prior to this she was awarded a BA(Hons) in Early Childhood Studies from the University of Bradford.

Catherine’s research interests include the impact technology has on young children. Her Dissertation for her Masters focused on Parents perspectives on how technology has reshaped children’s lives within the Early Years (0-7 years).

After working in the Further Education sector, teaching and managing Higher Education programmes within the area of Early Years, validated by Liverpool John Moores and the University of Chester, Catherine moved over to Liverpool John Moores in April 2023 to undertake a full-time lecturing role.
