Dr Moustafa Haj Youssef

Liverpool Business School

Dr. Moustafa Haj Youssef is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in International Strategic Management at Liverpool John Moores University and an experienced management and strategy consultant. Moustafa holds a PhD in Strategic Management from the University of Westminster.

His research interests lie in the field of strategic management, with an emphasis on strategic leadership, the study of chief executive officers and their effect on organisational outcomes. Majority of his work examines managerial discretion, the extent to which executives are able to influence their firms’ strategic actions and eventual performance. He is also interested in topics of corporate governance, executive personal characteristics, institutions and entrepreneurship. Moustafa has engagement in research/scholarly activity, through a range of approaches: contributing actively to Faculty Research Centres within the school, making a substantial contribution to delivery of internally funded projects, disseminating research/scholarly outputs using a range of media. e.g. academic publications, external reports and conference presentations, developing external networks internationally, and supervising research students.

Moustafa has experience in the development and delivery of teaching, learning and assessment for senior undergraduate and postgraduate students, including substantial responsibility for the design, enhancement and organisation of teaching and learning for curriculum development. In addition to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules, Moustafa taught a range of short courses to executives and industry experts.
