Beverley Caddick-Kala is the Subject Leader in Law in the School of Law at Liverpool John Moores University and is an active member of the School Management Team. Her role involves providing leadership and innovation in both teaching and learning and in the promotion of research-informed teaching.

Beverley provides leadership and line management to academic staff within the School of Law and has strategic responsibility of academic activities, including teaching, research, and enterprise. Beverley is very committed to the development of staff within the School of Law and actively encourages and works with colleagues to achieve their career aspirations.

Beverley is passionate about widening participation in higher education and challenging barriers into the legal profession to ensure that everyone, no matter their background is provided with the opportunity to realise their potential and succeed in the law. In November 2023 Beverley was the winner of the Women in Law Excellence Award for the prestigious BizWomen Awards 2023.

In addition, Beverley is also dedicated to enhancing the student experience by adopting a dynamic and professional learning environment built upon core academic legal skills.

Beverley’s research interests are in the area of leadership, with specific focus on entrepreneurial leadership and women in leadership. Beverley has attended numerous conferences on leadership and in particular engaged in the Global Women Leadership Summit 2023, which focused on the theme of female leadership and global impact. Furthermore, Beverley was a panellist at the Global Women Leadership Summit 2024 which focused on 'Women in Leadership: Leading and Thriving in Challenging Times'.

Beverley has a degree in law and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership. She is currently completing her PhD on entrepreneurial leadership and women in leadership in universities which explores the lived experiences of women who are in senior leadership positions in HE to capture women leaders’ perceptions of their identity as it has been constructed through different stages in their professional career.
