Fiona is a principal lecturer at LJMU's Law School and she is currently the programme leader for the LPC.
.
She teaches across a number of programmes in the Law School. She is module leader for the Criminal Litigation module on the LPC and teaches on Advocacy, Criminal Litigation, Family Law and Practice and Legal Research modules on the LPC. She also teaches on Legal Research on the GDL and Independent Learning in Law, Family and Media Law on the LLB. She is looking forward to working with LCAPS to develop courtroom skills training for police officers, and contributing to their degree apprenticeship programme.

Fiona worked for many years as a criminal defence and family lawyer in Merseyside, Cheshire and the Thames Valley. She also worked as a consultant trainer with Merseyside Police delivering training on courtroom skills and human rights. She also devised and delivered bespoke training to Merseyside Police Federation on advocacy in misconduct hearings, employment law and practice, and negotiation techniques.She is a member of Liverpool Law Society and a former member of Chester & North Wales and Merseyside Regional Legal Services Committee and the Liverpool Community Legal Service Training Task Group.

She has taught on the LPC since January 1995 and is very proud to have contributed to the academic development of more than a thousand lawyers during her career to date at LJMU.

She is Chair of a charity providing weekly audio recordings of local news and current affairs to blind and partially sighted listeners across Chester and Flintshire. She has volunteered with a number of charities providing support to vulnerable, elderly or homeless adults. She has also supported many students in her role as disability co-ordinator for the PG Dip in Legal Practice, the GDL and the LLM in Legal Practice, and in the capacity of personal tutor across those and undergraduate law programmes.
