Biography

I am a senior lecturer in advanced manufacturing and have been working at the LJMU since 2012. I have published more than 30 papers including in top international journals and international conferences in the manufacturing field, particularly, micro scale grinding processes, single grit cutting mechanism, finite element modelling and simulation of machining processes, micro/macro electrical discharge machining processes. I am available for PhD supervision for the following topics:
- Surface modification of biomaterials for medical application (e.g. medical implant manufacturing) by electrical discharge machining processes.
- Modelling and simulation of micro machining process for efficient and sustainable manufacturing. This project mainly include multi-scale simulation of machining processes (micro grinding) at micro scale such as by using finite element modelling and smooth particles hydrodynamics method and validation of simulations by experimental tests.
- or any topics relevant to manufacturing processes (such as welding, grinding, metal cutting) will be considered for supervision.
