Dr Omoleye Ojuri

School of Civil Engineering and Built Environment

Omoleye is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Civil Engineering and Built Environment, Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). Prior to joining LJMU, she worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Quantity Surveying at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. Omoleye is an Honorary Lecturer at the University College London’s Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction.

Research summary
Dr Omoleye Ojuri's current interests span social value creation, construction project and climate neutral infrastructure. She works at the interstices of construction projects, social value creation and climate neutral infrastructure.

Social value creation in construction project
Omoleye wants to understand the creation of social value (on job opportunities, income, improving well-being, including mental health, thermal and air quality comfort, waste reduction, and increased green space, among others) towards climate-neutral approaches in infrastructure development. She is interested in how the Multiple Capital Approach (Human resources, social unity/cohesion, relationship, intellectual, and financial resources) is driven by stakeholder engagement to demonstrate the uptake of social value. This understanding should help in the creation of socially effective delivery of social needs through infrastructure development.

Climate neutral infrastructure
Omoleye is motivated by two interrelated questions. What does the inclusion of social value creation in infrastructure development tell us about carbon-neutrality? How should social value creation be designed at different stages of infrastructure development to promote climate-neutral infrastructure?

Teaching Summary
Dr Omoleye Ojuri teaches Construction Procurement, Management Theory and Practice, Construction Contracts and Clients, Measurement and Costing, Introduction to Law. At present, she primarily lectures Measurement and Costing (4212BEUG), Introduction to Law (4312BEUG) and Construction Procurement (5210BEUG). She has supervised over 100 Bachelors and Masters in these and related areas.
