Dr Uma is Senior Lecturer of Construction Project Management in the School of Civil Engineering and Built Environment, Faculty of Engineering & Technology at Liverpool John Moores University. Prior to joining LJMU, she has worked at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, University of Huddersfield, and the Global Banking School. She is a fellow of the Institution of Engineers India (IEI) and a full member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the Association for Project Management (APM). Over the last 15 years, she has built substantial record of academic and research leadership in the area of Project Management and Construction Engineering Management. She has developed 2 MOOC courses namely Scheduling Techniques in Projects and Safety in Construction that attracted approximately 10000 learners every year. She has graduated 5 doctoral research scholars and published 40 articles till date. Her research focus includes digital technology, design management, construction site safety management, computer simulation modelling. From 2014 to 2020, she supported the development of Indian Standards on construction project management. In recognition of her hard work and dedication, Project Management Institute (PMI) and Construction Industry and Development Council (CIDC) had conferred on her the prestigious Young Research Scholar Award in 2015 and Vishwakarma Award in 2018 respectively apart from several best paper awards and prizes.
