Dr Yun Sheng

School of Computer Science and Mathematics

Dr. Yun Sheng is a Senior Lecturer in Visual Computing at the School of Computer Science and Mathematics, Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Surrey‚ U.K. Since then, he has been working in academia around the world, taking part in many research projects funded by major research bodies, such as the EU FP6, EPSRC, Singaporean government, Chinese National Foundation of Nature and Science, etc. He has been regularly serving as a peer reviewer in a series of international conferences, journals and funding bodies. He has also been a programme committee member of Computer Graphics International, one of the oldest annual international conferences in computer graphics, since 2018. He has successfully supervised 15 postgraduate research students. With his students, he received a Platinum Best Paper award of the International Conference on Multimedia and Expo 2018 (ICME'18), a leading conference of IEEE in Multimedia. Yun also holds the fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Yun is constantly looking for both PhD students and visiting scholars to collaborate in the cutting edge research areas of Visual Computing. In particular, he has recently been fascinated by the power of Deep Learning in resolving conventional and future Visual Computing problems, especially AIGC problems. If interested please contact him directly.
