PhD: Personalising Elite Training Through The Use Of Individualised In-Vitro Bioengineered 'Mini-Muscles' / Investigating The Underpinning Mechanisms Of Skeletal Muscle Hypertrophy
Supervisory Team: Claire Stewart, Graeme Close, Adam Sharples
Research Focus: Andreas' main area of study is surrounding the individual adaptations and mechanisms to hypertrophy training, but has a keen interest within the metabolic basis and quantification of load within elite sport.
Applied Work: Initially, Andreas studied an undergraduate degree alongside working as an Assistant Sports Scientist at Everton Football Club, alongside university commitments. This lead to further specialisation in the area of Sports Nutrition and he began to work with Wasps Rugby Union and Blackburn Rovers Football Club alongside Masters degree study. Currently, Andreas works within the England Rugby Union Performance Services Team as a Performance Nutritionist and as a Consultant Nutritionist with England Rugby League, Catalan Dragons Rugby League and Toronto Wolfpack Rugby League whilst completing his PhD study.
