Biography

Lawrence is a Senior Lecturer in Physical Activity, Exercise and Health in the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences. He is a member of the Physical Activity Exchange within the Research Institute for Sport and Exercise Sciences.

His on-going research interests include developing interventions and policy actions to promote physical activity and sport participation, whilst his work has a particular focus on children and families, as well as physical literacy (including fundamental movement skills) and sport for health strands. Lawrence has significant experience of working on local (e.g. A-CLASS Project, Liverpool Active City, REACH, Active Play, SmokeFree Sports), national (Youth Sport Trust: Move 2 Improve; Sport Wales: Dragon Challenge) and European (AFRESH: Activity and Food for Regional Economies Supporting Health) projects and regularly collaborates with public, private and third-sector organisations, in particular, schools, as part of his research.
