Sarah has been connected with the University since enrolling at Liverpool Polytechnic in 1987.  She gained a BA and MA with LJMU, then worked for Property Services and Student Support. 

She has taught at LJMU since 2006, and is now the Programme Leader in Creative Writing.  In 2013, she won an LJMU Amazing Teaching Award.

Sarah has sat on the Governing Bodies of three Liverpool schools.  She is a founder member of the Merseyside Literature Partnership, and is a trustee of a small arts organisation that promotes poetry in Merseyside.
