Malik Al Nasir is an author, poet and academic from Liverpool. From the age of 9 to 18 Malik grew up in care. By 18 he says he was left traumatised, semi-literate, homeless and destitute, many years later going on to successfully sue Liverpool City Council for neglect, racism and physical abuse.
Jo is a finance officer and in 2023 celebrated 35 years of working for LJMU. She’s worked across many different departments during her career, and as the university has evolved. During more than three decades of dedicated work, Jo has made lasting friendships along the way and even met her husband here too.
We are looking for volunteers, aged 18 to 25 to take part in a study measuring cardiac responses during as social interaction. If you have a Pacemaker, or any known cardiovascular abnormality, you cannot take part.
