Eleanor is a pharmacy graduate now working in a community pharmacy in Liverpool. She attributes the ‘nurturing’ approach of her LJMU lecturers as key to shaping her and her colleagues into the professionals they are today. Pharmacists who can show their personality and vulnerabilities with their customers, to build a lasting rapport that creates excellent service for the community they serve.
HIV services and prevention work within the North West of England utilise the Public Health Institute's interactive tools, databases, and intelligence work. We offer assistance through evaluations and research into: contraception, teenage pregnancy, STDs, young people's health. Lorraine Shaw was the Subject Lead for Nursing in the School of Nursing and Allied Health from 2013 until her retirement in 2023. As a registered nurse since 1987, practising in a range of clinical areas, her ties with LJMU began in 1992 when she needed a degree to progress with her career and enrolled with LJMU while continuing to work full-time for the NHS, and later venturing into teaching and management.
